Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), developed by Albert Ellis, does just that. Modeling is
the closest alternative, but it involves the observation and imitation of behaviors. Existential and
Gestalt therapies are humanistic approaches. Psychoanalysis involves probing patients’
unconscious in order to discover the repressed roots of their complaints.
