- (C) Group therapy tends to be less expensive than individual therapy as the cost is shared by the
members of the group. Some people may make friends with others in their group, but it is highly
unlikely that they develop lasting friendships with ALL the other people in their group and making
such friendships is not the goal of seeking therapy. Another asset of group therapy, albeit not a
choice in this question, is that people come to understand that many people have the same kind of
problems as they do. Few clear differences exist between group and individual therapy in terms of
success rate, length of therapists’ training, and time spent in therapy.
