Do whatever is requested quickly and accurately. Often,
when a coach must choose between student athletes who are
similar academically and athletically, they most often choose
the one who has demonstrated discipline and maturity in his/
her communications with the coach.
Some recruiting services recommend that a prospect staple
a copy of a personally created questionnaire. That is a colossal
error. When a coach receives a stapled questionnaire returned
from a prospect that has made the first contact by sending a
profile, it demonstrates that the prospect is fishing for schol-
arships and has no special interest in the coach’s program.
Some coaches may not care if they receive mass-produced and
stapled questionnaires to their questionnaire, but most feel
exploited and don’t pursue that prospect.
