This is a leaf spring suspension. Leaf springs (red) are flat spring steel bars that are heated up and arched, then
left to cool off. Once cooled, the multiple-arched bars (now called leaves) of different lengths are bolted
together with shackles creating a spring stack. The bottom bar has eyelets at each end that rubber bushings
are inserted into. These are then bolted to the underside of the vehicle’s frame, then to the axle. They support
its weight. The yellow parts are shock absorbers that also connect to the underside of the vehicle.
