The alternator keeps the battery charged and provides enough electrical stream to power the vehicle’s
electrical accessories. For the alternator to do its job it must have a strong and steady electrical stream of
voltage and amperage from the battery. Also, the drive belt must be properly adjusted to turn the alternator
pulley when an electrical load such as headlights is placed upon it. A loose belt will result in the battery being
drained and you getting stranded with a car that will not start due to a dead battery.
