Once the material reached site, the store manager used
the app to provide details of unloading the equipment at
a pre-defined storage location along with LR number and
date. This app could also track the internal movement of
equipment within the site boundary.
The benefits of the logistic system were as follows.
There was lesser dependency on the supplier to ascertain
the dispatch status of any material, lesser calls to drivers
to ascertain the status of the material in transit. Planning
for unloading could be done as adequate notifications were
being received by all concerned through the system once
the material was dispatched. Site engineers could easily
trace the desired equipment at the site with LR number,
unloading details, etc. This reduced the time in locating
the equipment.
For the document management system (DMS), the
ORACLE ACONEX tool was deployed which helped us
for efficient drawing and document control. This tool
