All our past projects have been executed and implemented
on package mode basis, i.e. complete project ordering for
plant and machinery broken into various packages and
awarded accordingly.
For this, we adopted EP mode of order which means
we clubbed all packages of plant and machinery in one
single EP package other than construction work. The key
advantage of EP mode ordering was observed as follows:

•   Project cost firmed up for plant and machinery and

risk of cost escalation was eliminated

•   Faster overall ordering as compared to package mode,

where the first major technology package was finalized

and then based on their input remaining packages

were ordered which generally takes 6–8 months

•   Single vendor to be coordinated for all the packages,

so a single point of contact for coordination and

follow up. Delivery tracking also becomes faster and

easy being a single point of contact

•   EP mode reduces the number of resources required

at DCBL end

•   Engineering coordination improves and reduces the

time of inputs for civil design

•   No conflict on battery limits and no interfacing

required across various section
