58 PROjECT PRIDE
attitude and spirit around Project Pride; a go-get-it attitude,
transparency, ownership, responsibility, and competency.
It was decided to employ digitalization in execution
- Planning, Progress Monitoring, Decisions/Approvals,
Equipment Inspection, Real-time Logistics, Site Storage,
Construction Management, Reporting, Issues Resolution,
Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation
Installation and Readiness Protocols, Remote Monitoring
during start-up and stabilization, etc. Innovative and
interwoven tools were chosen, all the members trained and
necessary rights granted for mobile and desktop applications.
The digitalization of execution played a key role in the ultimate
success of this project by accurately monitoring the progress
with all metrics visible to all stakeholders for necessary action,
maintaining timelines with focus on milestones.
DCBL, FLSmidth, and Holtec combined to scope
specifications and finalize the core and vendor equipment
by timely review of drawings, approvals, and selections. Core
equipment, noble parts, and sophisticated high technology
systems like Robo-Lab equipment and parts were sourced
globally from Europe, America, Australia, South Korea,
and Sub Continental India. Proactive vendor and supplier
management were employed to track manufacturing progress.
Manufacturing and supply activities played a significant role
in ensuring the major equipment was made available in 8–9
months of signing the contract. This success was due to pre-
booking of slots for long-lead items, usage of digitalization
in progress tracking, inspection, and use of technologies like
online-based tracking of vehicles to plant site.
