commitment and pride in being part of the great success
of Project Pride. This motivation level was achieved by the
visit of our project head along with the senior team to their
shops to review the progress, address their concerns, and
provide support so that they could take up manufacturing
on fast-track mode.
Kiln shell was ordered to NS Engineering on 22 October
2018 by FLSmidth. Adequate support was extended to the
supplier for procuring steel plates from M/s Jindal. With
frequent visits to vendor and close monitoring through
expedition mobile app and FLSmidth expeditors, the
emphasis was given on parallel manufacturing with extra
manpower, extended working hours, and proper monitoring
and control. As a result, the manufacturing cycle for all
shells was improved and limited to three-and-a-half months
from the date of ordering.
There were milestones on the construction domain also,
major being 21,000 CuM RCC casting till December 2018,
the start of mechanical erection on 12 December 2018 in
stacker and reclaimer and cooler ESP area.
