(Project Pridr) #1

74 PROjECT PRIDE

advised us to speed up the work to achieve the target and
suggested focusing on the balance work with a proactive
approach to meet the target of completing the project in
time. The dialogue with the MD & CEO convinced all
that the target was achievable and all key members put
in their full efforts to complete the project with renewed
energy.
During this meeting, discussions took place on the
logistic arrangements for transporting of kiln shells to the
site from Hyderabad within a short period. A dedicated
commercial entity was deputed to take care of logistics
issues during dispatch and in transit. The first two shells
dispatched on 29 January 2019. Within the next two
months, rest of the six shells were also dispatched.
Kiln shell transportation was handled exceptionally
with monitoring on daily basis and with all backup plans.
Discussion were carried out with transporters about all
the possible ways and means to transport the kiln shells
to determine the fastest option. A route survey was done,
all the permissions were managed beforehand so that
there is minimal stoppage of vehicles at state borders,
railway crossings, and under & overhead barriers and
bridges.
Normal kiln shell transportation time should have been
45 days but with all the above meticulous planning, kiln
shell sections 3 & 4 transportation time was reduced to 37
days which was further reduced to 21 days for balance kiln
sections. Some photographs are shared here:
