HABPCO, FLSmidth, took up the challenge to overcome
the crisis.
Altogether, after the team had been formed, the total
construction area was divided in few zones. Dedicated
responsibility to area owner was assigned for water
evacuation. Water pumps were available at DCBL store
and contractor’s store was shifted out of the waterlogged
area in the main plant, JCB and excavator were put out for
digging additional drains and Hume pipes were placed at
temporary road crossings.
All electrical engineers started taking care of power
shutdown, providing connections to dewatering pumps, and
ensuring lighting arrangement during the night. All these were
