“The next routine appointment with my regular, allopathic doctor pro-
duced this exchange: Dr.: ‘Did you have surgery?’ Anthony: ‘No, I did not
want surgery so I went offshore, alternative.’ He dropped the subject and we
moved on to other matters.” We also received a letter a year later, and again
almost a year after that reassuring us that there had been no recurrence.

9 Ronald Hartnett Brain Cancer


“Little Ronald’s” adventure with brain cancer taught us a lot about the
brain.
It began at age eight, diagnosed as glioblastoma multiforme/astro-
cytoma. We saw him first at age nine. He was now in Stage IV. He had al-
ready gone through six surgeries to remove the tumor, but each time it grew
back. He also had received intense chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation.
The family had decided not to do another surgery this time for the new
growth. Ronald was extremely weak; nothing had worked. He was on Decad-
