 4 -General Introduction

The first thing that come in our mind when we see or hear the term

translation, is that is the term, that means the process of translating spoken utterance and

written and texts from the source language to the target language which known as the SL

to TL. Actually, it is beyond than that. It is more complex than replacing source language

text with target language text and includes cultural and educational nuances that can shape

the options and attitudes of recipients. According to some scholars and linguists is that, the

translation can be considered as a science, an art, and it can be a skill. It is a science in the

sense that it necessitates complete knowledge of the structure and make-up of the two

languages concerned. It is an art since it requires artistic talent to reconstruct the original

text in the form of a product that is presentable to the reader who is not supposed to be

familiar with the original. It is also a skill because it entails the ability to smooth over any

difficulty in the translation, and the ability to provide the translation of something that has

no equal in the target language. One of the the most effective theory in the field of

translation, is that one that was suggested by the linguists “Roman Jacobson” which made

a distinction between three types of translation. The first type is the intralingual

translation, which means the translation within the same language through the rewording

and paraphrasing. The second type is interlingual translation, which means the

translation from one language to another. This type of translation it is very important

discipline that involves separate body of knowledge being very much in use for various

human activities. For instance, the interaction between communities, between countries,

which applies and appears through the translation of language, in the purpose of the

exchange of information and successful business, education, law, religion, and literature.

The third type is the intersemiotic translation translation of the verbal sign by a non-

verbal sign, for example Gestures, music, and images.

However, in this introduction I will also introduce the difficulties and the challenges that I

encountered, and the steps that I followed within this research paper.
