Shape of the Spinal Column
When looking at the spinal column from behind, it should be perfectly straight. When
looking at the spinal column from the side, however, you can see that it has a double āSā
curve. These curves support the head over the pelvis in a sitting and standing position,
while allowing for load bearing and shock absorption by the spine.
