their love. I have no problem giving a man in this
situation the benefit of the doubt. That being said,
if he claims that this is his issue, I still don’t think
you should remain in the situationship with him. I
don’t think it’s a strong enough reason why you
should be patiently waiting on him to magically
overcome this issue. If he’s unable to give you what
you need and desire, it’s not fair to you to stay in the
situation waiting for him to figure it out or not.
As adults, we’re all able to learn the things we
need to learn in order to function successfully in life
and in love. We need to collectively get out of using
our “dysfunctional childhoods” as an excuse for why
we grow up to be dysfunctional and mistreat people
we claim to love and care about. I’ll get more into

Even if you feel you love him, your love won’t be
enough. A successful relationship requires more
than love alone. Love is more than a word or a three-
word sentence. Love is also more than someone’s
random actions towards you. Love is in our spirit.
It’s who we are. It’s a part of our very being.
