Taper Your Calories throughout the Day
There is an old proverb that says: “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince,
and dinner like a pauper.” Recent studies in 2009 show that if you taper your
calories throughout the day, you can lose weight more easily (Fig. 7.2). This
eating pattern makes a lot of sense, and that’s the mantra of the Perfect 10 Diet,
too. You need the most calories in the morning and dinner should be your
smallest meal. Tapering your calories throughout the day regulates serotonin, a
brain chemical, which plays a role in regulating food intake.

Breakfast: It’s That Important
Start your day right, and eat a big breakfast. One of the major mistakes that
dieters make is skipping breakfast, but breakfast is the most important meal of
the day. Once we wake up, we begin expending energy at a high rate. We leave
