opposite show the granular texture of Chinese
block ink, and the way it distributes when the
brush is dabbed on its side.
Wet and dry strokes
Among these drawings made with the same
brush, we see fine lines and spots, bleeding from
concentrated ink strokes into watery lines, and
below left, the effects of the brush running out of ink.
