Wow, she is so accepting.
Well, next time I need to re-
member to call. That’s a reason-
able request.

“It’s okay. Give me a call next
time, all right?”

Wow, she is being so loving. I
shouldn’t get so defensive
with her. Next time I will try
to hear her point of view bet-
ter.

“Apology accepted.... It
wasn’t so bad. We were both
upset. I appreciate that you
thought about it.”

She is being so nice. I really
appreciate that in her. I should
call her more often.

“It’s fine; I just didn’t know
what had happened.”

Umm. I really was selfish.
Next time I am going to do
something really nice for her.

“It’s all right. You owe me one.
Next time let’s go to the sym-
phony.”
Well, it is a bigger deal than I
thought. Next time I will be
more considerate.

“It’s no big deal, but it does
feel good to know that you
didn’t mean to do it. I’m sure
you’ll make it up to me” (said
with a smile).
She is so wonderful. Where
did she come from? I love
Venus.

“Thanks, you really didn’t
have to say that. I appreciate
that you were trying to under-
stand.”

In each of these examples a woman’s forgiveness and accept-
ance motivate a man to continue trying to do his best in their
relationship. By minimizing his mistakes, she makes him take
her feelings and sensitivities more seriously. It takes
