1.3 Conclusion



  • The measureable quantity in any project is its RCC quantity which affects the
    overall timeline and costing of project, even in reporting formats we usually measure
    the per month pouring of concrete, to arrive on to any approximate budgetary
    figure of a cement plant just multiply the RCC quantity by Rs. 23000/- an
    amount of civil work can be arrived including reinforcement and cement
    quantity in present prices of Cement and steel.

  • It has been observed from the plants data, that to evaluate the quantity for any
    project either green field or for brown field there are various factors which decides
    the actual quantity i.e. location of project, soil bearing capacity, wind
    load, earthquake zone. This is why we observed variation in quantity from
    project to project, even for same capacity and plant type.

  • In brown field projects quantity of non-plant buildings and infrastructure is less
    as compared to a green field project because of existing infrastructure,
    where as in greenfield projects all facilities are developed for Plant operations.
    Hence the quantity is more.

  • The reinforcement quantity calculation shows a consumption of approx. 130-140
    Kg/cum of RCC quantity. Again this varies from project type and other deciding
    factors elaborated above. This also depends on type and grade of steel i.e. FE 415 or
    FE 500 and grade of RCC. In general, we use M25/M30/M35 grade of RCC.

  • A link factor has been developed between Plant capacity and quantity of
    reinforcement steel which is described in table as under for general reference.
