g. Maintenanceaspects: No major issue, only routine checkups and of cross bar
and seals are required. Up to three years of operation the maintenance cost is
Rs. 0 /T of clinker.
IKN have not done any technological improvements in their systems and still
offering 10 years old technology to the industry, whereas other suppliers are
gradually upgrading the technology for higher efficiency and performance. Also
no improvements are done on design of air inlet ducts to reduce the pressure
drop.
13.5.3 LNVT: Sinowalk Cooler
a. Operating Mechanism



  • Clinker Cooling & conveying is done by plate.

  • Walking floor concept. All lanes moves forward simultaneously & alternate
    lanes moves backward. In case of any problem / issue one can operate it
    manually as per requirement.

  • Dead bed of clinker of 150 -200 mm is required to save the mother plate with
    direct contact of hot clinker but which creates extra pressure drop and power
    consumption of cooling air fans.

  • Vertical aeration by air flow is used for hot clinker cooling
    b. Design Concept

  • Static inlet section.

  • Separate clinker conveying and cooling concept

  • Self-adjusting mechanical flow regulators

  • Horizontal design of cooler with optimized transport control.

  • No undergrate dust collection and conveying is required.
    c. Design Care for Snowman: Frames / plates of fixed inlet are maintained same
    slope to not allow setting of any snowman. No steps to avoid settling of hot
    clinker
    d. Design Care for Red River: Red river issue can be avoided by

  • Putting up a zero air adjustment orifice plate at the red river area.

  • Adjusting the stroke length.

  • Cooler can be operated in manual mode as per requirement.
    e. Efficient Labyrinth Seal maintains 1 mm gap between plates
    f. Recuperation Efficiency: LNVT has given 74.5 % recuperation efficiency (Clinker
    temperature 1400 Deg C in HB), this is because of the better seal and optimized
    design of air flow regulator below the cooler with improved sensitivity wrt
    clinker bed.
    g. Maintenance Aspects: No major issue, only routine checkups and of shuttles and
    seals are required. Up to three years of operation the maintenance cost is Rs. 1
    /T of clinker.
