d. Design care for Red River: Red river issue can be avoided by
- Putting up a zero air MFRS at the red river area it can be easily changed in
running condition also. - Adjusting the stroke length and cooler can be operated in manual mode as
per requirement. - Efficient Labyrinth Seal maintain 1 mm gap between plates avoids short
circuiting of air. - Recuperation Efficiency: FLS has given 73.6% recuperation efficiency.
(Clinker temp 1400 deg. C in HB). - Maintenance Aaspects: No major issue, only routine checkups and of cross
bar and seals are required. Up to three years of operation the maintenance
cost is Rs. 0 /T of clinker.
13.5.2 IKN LPS 175 Cooler
a. Operating Mechanism: - Cooling and conveying of clinker is done by plates. It is mounted on
pendulum mobile frame, no rollers arrangement. - Horizontal aeration of air flow due to coanda effect in complete cooler is
used for cooling of hot clinker (co current cooling) provides better cooling
of clinker and reduces snowman and red river issues up to greater extent. - Two fixed and one movable plate is arranged to reduce the wear and to get
better sealing. Pendulum drive are used. - No rollers arrangement system, so wear is reduced.
b. Design Concept: - Static inlet section.
- Clinker conveying and cooling is done by grate plates.
- Under grate dust collection and conveying system is required
- Inclined design of cooler with optimized transport control.
c. Design Care for Snowman: IKN fixed inlet grate is designed in such a way that
accumulation of molten clinker over plate is avoided and horizontal air cooling
provides higher retention time avoiding snowman tendency.
d. Design Care for Red River: Red river issue can be avoided by - Horizontal aeration due to coanda effect (Co current direction) will result in
efficient cooling of red hot clinker dust. - Red river can also be avoided by optimization of grate speed and airflow/
pressure regulations.
