Limitedaswe are at present,everyconcep-
tion of God we form is limited, inadequate,
evengrotesque in its imperfection. Well may
we try in gentlest reverence to improve and
purify conceptions lower and cruder than our
own,recognisingthatourown must be equally
lowandcrudeinthesight of those beyondus,
howeverinspiringtheymaybetous atourless
