Explanation

• Huang Lian clears Heat and dries Dampness.


• Hou Po fragrantly resolves Dampness and moves Qi (which in itself also helps to resolve
  Dampness).


• Zhi Zi and Dan Dou Chi clear Heat. They specifically clear "hidden" Heat, i.e. any Heat
  remaining in the Interior after an invasion of Wind-Heat or Damp-Heat.


• Shi Chang Pu opens the orifices and helps to resolve Dampness. It is said to "awaken"
  the Spleen and it clears the brain.
