This pill drains Liver-Fire and is suitable to stop bleeding when Blood-Heat is caused by
Liver-Fire. However, it should be noted that it treats only the Root, i.e. Blood-Heat from
Liver-Fire, not the Manifestation. In order to treat this as well, it could be combined with the
remedy Yunnan Bai Yao (see below).
The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Red body with redder sides, possibly
with red points on them, and a yellow coating.

This well-known remedy stops bleeding, and calms, moves and nourishes Blood. It can be used
to treat the Manifestation, i.e. stop bleeding from any part of the body. It is particularly effective
for menorrhagia. Each bottle contains a small red pill which can be taken in case of acute,
profuse bleeding.
