Dampness. Because Wind-Heat affects the Upper Burner and Dampness more the Middle
Burner, besides the usual symptoms there is also nausea, a sticky taste and a feeling of
oppression of the epigastrium. Obstruction of the muscles by Dampness causes the feeling of
heaviness.


Treatment Principle


Release the Exterior, expel Wind-Heat and resolve Dampness.

L.I.-4 Hegu, L.I.-11 Quchi, SP-9 Yinlingquan, Ren-13 Shangwan, T.B.-5 Waiguan, Du-14
Dazhui, LU-11 Shaoshang. Reducing method.


Explanation



  • L.I.-4 and L.I.-11 release the Exterior, expel Wind-Heat and resolve Damp-Heat.

  • SP-9 resolves Damp-Heat.

  • Ren-13 resolves Dampness, harmonizes the Centre and subdues rebellious Stomach-Qi.

  • T.B.-5 expels Wind-Heat.

  • Du-14 clears Heat and is selected if Heat is pronounced (high fever).

  • LU-11, with bleeding method, expels Wind-Heat and treats inflamed tonsils.
