- If there is breathlessness add Ma Huang Herba Ephedrae and Xing Ren Semen Pruni
armeniacae. - If there is pronounced chilliness add Fu Zi Radix Aconiti carmichaeli praeparata and Gui
Zhi Ramulus Cinnamomi cassiae. - If there are also exterior symptoms and sweating add Huang Qi Radix Astragali
membranacei, Fang Feng Radix Ledebouriellae sesloidis and Fang Ji Radix Stephaniae
tetrandae. Huang Qi and Fang Ji in combination promote diuresis.

Fire-Poison
Clinical Manifestations
Dark or cloudy and scanty urine, mild oedema, blood in the urine, burning sensation on
micturition, fever, sore throat, cough.
Tongue: Red with a sticky-yellow coating.
Pulse: Slippery-Rapid.
This corresponds to acute nephritis from an infection with haematuria as its main manifestation.
Treatment Principle
Clear Heat, resolve Poison, cool Blood and promote diuresis.
