This expression with agradecer, ‘to be grateful’, is, after the expression in 68.1.8 above,
the second most common form for requesting something formally in writing. Note that
que can also be omitted in this expression. 16.1.1.3 (p. 61); 18.1.1 (p. 84)
Les agradecería (que) lo enviaran por avión.
I would be grateful/I would appreciate it if you would send it by plane.Le agradecería (que) me llamara cuando llegue a Madrid.
I would be grateful/I would appreciate it if you would call me when you
