Using the Application..............................................................................................................

This application was designed for third or advanced second graders. With

instruction from you, they should be able to figure out the sequence of what to

do. This can also be used one-on-one with an adult doing the typing, or with the

use of an overhead projector for the computer.

Excel Extras

I was not really sure how big to make this grid challenging without being

intimidating. You, of course, know your students a lot better than I do. With a

little tweaking, this can be made just about any size you want it to be. The only

restrictions would be to make sure that both the grid and the cells for the

answer and Excel’s response are visible on the screen without scrolling. Simply

alter each formula based on what size your grid will be. Also, you may need to

tweak column width and row height a little if you are making a much larger

grid.
