  1. Set column width.
    Click in the box at the very top of column C (the one with the C in it).
    Right-click anywhere in column C and select Column Width. In the box
    that appears, type in 15 and click OK. Repeat for columns F and I.

  2. Set up the numbers that will be displayed as questions on the quiz and tell
    Excel how to display them randomly.
    This example uses the numbers zero through ten (0 – 10), but you can
    change this later if you want fewer or more numbers.


a. Go to cell S5, type in the number zero (0), and press Enter. Put your
cursor on the fill handle (the small square in the lower right corner) of
cell S5. Right-click and drag down to S15. Release the right button, and
select Fill Series. The cells will fill with the numbers 0 – 10.

b. In cell R5, type in the following formula: =RAND() and then press Enter.
A random decimal number will appear. Left-click on the fill handle in
R5, drag down to R15, and release. Each of these cells will have a ran-
