Overlook Her Mistakes


Other than the Infallible ones (whom Allah has vowed to keep away
fromsins),nohumanbeingisperfectandallofusmakemanymistakes.
Ofcoursethisistrue forbothmenandwomen.Inthe caseofwomen,
shemaymakemistakesbybeingimpolitetoherhusband,dosomething
againsthiswish,beharshtohim,orinflictaneconomiclossonhimby
being careless, etc.


Ofcourseitistruethatacoupleshouldkeepeachothersatisfiedand
shouldseriouslyavoidannoyingeachother;however,itrarelyhappens
thatone orboth partiesdo notdeviatefromthisline.Somemen think
thattheyshouldbestrictabouttheirwives'mistakesastheybelievethis
to be the way to prevent the repetition of the same mistake again.


However,experienceoftenshowsexactlythereversetobethecase.A
woman,whosehusbandisstrictwithher maybeabletocopewithhis
strictnessforawhile,butwouldeventuallydecidetoreactagainstitasa
resultoffrustration.Shegraduallygetsusedtohisattitudeuntilshebe-
comes indifferent towards it.


A husband who would not practise forgiveness with regard to his
wife'smistakes,ispracticallyencouraging hertobecomeimpudentand
disobedient.Hemightwishtocontinuethisattitudewherehewillsurely
havemanyrowswithhiswife.Theybothwouldhavetoliveinastateof
bitterness for the rest of their lives.


Orhemight choose to leave hiswife aloneandnot concernhimself
withherasmuch.Inthiscasehiswife,whofeelsshehaswonafight,be-
comes indifferent to her husband's will and wishes. It might reach a
pointthatevenwhenshecommitsmajormistakesdeliberately,hekeeps
