HOW TO TAKE THE PROFILE (SAMPLE)
By filling out the profile in Figure 2.2 you will discover your own per-
sonality style. It is important to remember that there is no right or wrong
style—the profile simply reflects your specific personality makeup.
For each set, choose the word or phrase that bestdescribes you and write
a 4.Then, in the same set, choose the word or phrase that describes you
next best and write a 3.Then choose the next word or phrase that best de-
scribes you and write a 2.Finally choose the last word or phrase in the set,
the one that least describes you, and write a 1.Complete the process for all
12 sets. Add up the numbers for each letter (A, B, C, and D) and record the
totals. Note: The numbers for each letter total should be no less than 12 and
no greater than 48, and the total of all the letters should add up to 120.

your first instinct. You may feel a sense of tension at times when you are
forced to choose between two sets of words or phrases that may describe
you. This sense of tension is an integral part of the exercise.
