COMMUNICATING WELL TO SAVE TIME

Nothing shows that you respect other
people’s time as much as the way you
communicate:


  • Be brief in your written communi-
    cations, especially e-mail.

  • Always let people you call know you
    won’t take more than a few minutes
    of their time—and then keep to
    your promise.

  • Avoid barging into someone’s office;
    instead ask the person if this is
    a good time to talk—and respect
    their answer.

  • Be especially mindful of your boss’s
    time. Don’t hoard it!
