- Surgical removal of the adrenal tumor.
- Administer antihypertensive medication to help lower blood pressure.
- Administer beta blockers to diminish effects of epinephrine and norepinephrine:
- nifedipine
- nicardipine
- propranolol

- Risk for delayed surgical recovery
- Ineffective tissue perfusion (cardiac)
- Anxiety
NURSING INTERVENTION
- Monitor blood pressure.
- Administer medication to control hypertension.
- Monitor urine for catecholamines.
- Decrease stress.
- Explain to patient:
- Quit smoking to help lower blood pressure.
- Reduce caffeine to help lower blood pressure.
