b- Neuromuscular:
The following are the common neuromuscular manifestations of
uraemia:



  • Flabbing tremors (asterixis) and proximal myopathy with paradoxically
    brisk tendon reflexes.

  • Peripheral neuropathy is usually mixed (motor and sensory) and mainly
    affecting legs. Patients present mainly with parasthesia.

  • Muscle twitches and convulsions are mainly due to hypokalaemia and
    hypocalcaemia.

  • Muscle weakness is due to hyperkalaemia, hyponatraemia and
    hypovitaminosis D.
