5–8 The circulatory system is commonly divided into the cardiovascular system,
which consists of the heart and blood vessels, and the lymphatic system, which
consists of lymph vessels, lymph nodes, and lymphoid organs (spleen, thymus, and
tonsils). Review Figure 5–1 to see the interrelationship of the cardiovascular system
with the lymphatic system.
