Write a short note to a friend explaining why you were unable to meet him/her as arranged last
night. Use il faut; il faudra; il fallait; il a fallu; il aurait fallu wherever possible and as appropriate.
The following skeleton may give you some ideas: Mother ill. Had to stay at home and call the
doctor. Then had to go to late night chemist’s to pick up prescription. You should have thought to
