a The future perfect can describe an event scheduled to happen at some date in the future,
e.g.C’est promis, j’aurai tapé ce document avant la fin de la semaine (the document will be
typed before the end of the week).
b Like the future, the future perfect can indicate a probability (See Discover more about the
future, e), e.g.Elle est déjà rentrée. Elle aura fini son travail plus tôt que de coutume(she must
have finished earlier than usual).
c In the same way as the future, the future perfect can be used as a narrative tense referring to
past events (See Discover more about the future, f).
e.g. Elle aura attendu 20 ans pour que son talent soit enfin reconnu
(She will have waited 20 years for her talent to be recognized)
