5 Bring the loop through to the front as if to knit, but instead of slipping the old
stitch off the left needle, use the right needle to place the new loop onto the
left needle.

6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 four more times and then turn the work back so that
the RS is facing.

7 Bring the yarn to the back and slip the first stitch from the left needle to the
right needle; pass the additional cast-on stitch over the slipped stitch to close
the buttonhole. Work to the end of the row as usual.
