Teach Yourself Visually Knitting

(Michael S) #1

Sewing a button onto your knitting
is somewhat different from sewing a
button onto a shirt because the knit
fabric is a much looser weave. If your
button’s holes are large enough, you
can use your knitting yarn to sew it in.
Sometimes it’s easier to separate your
yarn into a few plies and use a thinner
strand to sew the button.

1 Thread a tapestry needle as you would to sew your knitting, leaving a 6-inch
tail coming out one side of the eye.

2 Insert the needle from back to front through the knitting and through one of
the holes in the button. Pull the yarn through until you have about 6 inches
of yarn left coming out the back of your knitting.
