Because of today’s computer technology, billboards are designed
on a computer screen, printed to vinyl or poster paper, and glued to the
billboard structure. This results in higher quality ads in less time for less
money.
(And have you seen the latest digital billboard? They have the
look of a TV or computer screen. At this time, these are the priciest, so
you probably won’t want to start with them, but they are effective in
some cases.)


Cost
The cost of a billboard runs from around $700 a month to over
$2,000. When you factor in how many pairs of eyes will see your ad—
on a daily basis as they are driving to and from wherever—it’s really a
bargain. One or two deals would more than pay for it.
It’s important to remember this is a visual medium, not text! Just
a few descriptive words are needed—words to paint a picture in the
mind of the reader. Study billboards and make notes on the ones that, in
your opinion, actually work, and what ones do not.
