and medical schools spend little time teaching doctors how to prevent diseases; you
must take responsibility for yourself. People need health advice and not more health
care.
What are some of the worst foods to eat? Soda pop is up there with 10 teaspoons of
sugar in every can, you can see why! For gout sufferers read my post on sugar and high
fructose corn syrup. Fruit juice is better but be careful, don’t overdo it! French fries is a
travesty on the name of “potato”, as we fry them, they soak up 200 calories of nothing
but fat! A potato is good for you but not if you fry it! Chips are virtually all fat and worse
than fries! Bacon, 95% of its calories are fat! Fettuccine Alfredo and other pasta sauces
are swimming in a pool of grease and destroy the value that you would get from pasta,
the only part that is good! Use a no-oil Italian dressing or olive oil instead and you won’t
have any trouble. Fast food burgers are bad news since half of the calories are fat
anyway. I’m not telling you not to eat beef, but in moderation please and don’t dress it
up with fat, like cheese and sauces. How about granola bars? They are horrible and are
promoted as a health food but they’re half fat and the other half all sugar, no worse
than a candy bar! Donuts are very bad for you, cheese is ok to eat, eat it with meat or
replace meat with it instead but don’t think cheese is a wonder food, be moderate. Hot
dogs are definitely not good for you since 85% of the calories are fat. Candy bars are
50–50 fat and sugar, please eat it only once in a while even for your children. It also
keeps your bank savings higher by not dishing out big bucks in getting their teeth fixed
by the dentist.
Some of the best foods are broccoli and carrots loaded with vitamin A; a precursor of
beta-carotene that helps prevent cancer. All fruits and vegetables have something to
prevent cancer, so eat plenty of it! Oats are great, baked potatoes are fantastic, yogurt
and skim milk are good, fish which has very little fat and helps prevent blood clots,
whole grain breads are outstanding, lentils and other dried beans are extraordinary,
popcorn and bananas with their high energy! In conclusion, there is no miracle food out
there, just eat a variety of the good foods and you will live very well!
In your gout diet plan make sure to eat cherries which lowers uric acid levels, fruits and
vegetables that are high in Vitamin C like oranges, kiwis, peppers, kale, broccoli, berries
and tomatoes. Pineapple is a gout favorite, studies have found that bromelain is useful
in relieving strain-induced gout, when uric acid crystals accumulate in a joint that
