Persimmon Soup
Persimmons typically become ripe early in the fall. Luckily, in Hawaii there is a springtime fruit that is a close relative of the persimmon: the
chocolate pudding fruit (also known as the chocolate persimmon) or black sapote, which works great for this soup, too.
SERVES 2 TO 4
5 persimmons, peeled and chopped
Pinch of ground cinnamon
1 cup filtered water
Place the persimmons, cinnamon, and water in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into bowls and enjoy.
