6.1.8 CASEWORK shall be installed plumb, level, straight, and in plane.
6.1.9 DOOR and DRAWER GAPS shall be uniform and show a maximum clearance between adjacent doors or
drawers, as set forth in the PRODUCT portion of this section, and:
6.1.9.1 DOOR and DRAWER FRONTS shall align vertically and horizontally, and:
6.1.9.1.1 Be FLUSH (on the same plane) to one another.
6.1.9.1.2 Minor ADJUSTMENTS are the responsibility of the installer.

S C R I B I N G
SCRIBING shall be provided where cabinets contact finished walls or ceiling as elaborated below and in the
PRODUCT portion of this section, and:
6.1.10.1 SCRIBE strips or scribing is not required. M
6.1.10.2 END JOINTS of running scribe trim may be butt-jointed. M
6.1.10.3 SCRIBING or SCRIBE MOLDS shall be furnished at the manufacturer’s option,
and: M
6.1.10.3.1 CAULKING is permitted for a gap of 1/16” (1.6 mm) or less. MM
6.1.10.4 WOOD FILLER STRIPS are permitted to fill a maximum gap of 1-1/2” (38.1 mm). M
6.1.10.5 END JOINTS of running scribe trim shall be beveled, and: MM
6.1.10.5.1 CORNERS shall be mitered or coped. MM
6.1.10.6 At tall and wall-hung cabinets, CLOSURE PANELS shall be provided at top and
bottom voids.

6.1.10.7 ALLOWABLE GAP at the back bottom edge of wall-hung cabinets shall not exceed
that listed below and, when scribing is necessary, the use of a separate scribe mold
is permitted.
