Irregular Verbs II

With some irregular verbs, the past form ends in -ew, and the past participle ends
in -wn.
BASE FORM PAST FORM PAST PARTICIPLE
blow blew blown
draw drew drawn
fly flew flown
grow grew grown
know knew known
With other irregular verbs, the base form, past form, and past participle are all the
same.
BASE FORM PAST FORM PAST PARTICIPLE
cut cut cut
let let let
With others, the past form and the past participle do not follow any pattern.
BASE FORM PAST FORM PAST PARTICIPLE
be was, were been
do did done
go went gone
wear wore worn

Exercise 1 Write in the blank the past form of the irregular verb in parentheses.
Ms. Chandra’s class [ grew tomatoes. (grow)
1.Aunt Karin [ cut my hair last night. (cut)
2.The wind [ blew down four trees. (blow)
3.She [ wore her hair in a braid. (wear)
