Warren uses throughout The Purpose-Driven Life when he
quotes God’s recorded words from the Bible. He doesn’t make
reference to a Scripture verse; instead he offers God’s
conversational words to the reader, saying:
God says, “I have carried you since you were born; I have taken care
of you from your birth. Even when you are old, I will be the same.
Even when your hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made
you and will take care of you.” 7From before your birth until after you die, God talks to you,
telling you He loves you and wants to be with you. Once you
believe how special you are to God, I am confident you’ll
anticipate talking to God, and even make time every day to let
God talk to you.

this very simple concept will go a long way in increasing your
affection toward God.
