David marveled at how often, how much, and how many
times God spoke to him during the day. In fact, he awoke
expecting God’s voice, welcoming him into another day.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!
I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!
PSALM 139:17–18 NLT
Is that how you feel? Do you hear God’s thoughts running
through your mind from the moment you wake up until you hit
the pillow each night?
Perhaps you have entertained the thought that God only
speaks to people who have important positions. Or that He
doesn’t waste time speaking to average people about
everyday, non-life-threatening matters. Perhaps you have
brushed off an affirming thought that is full of loving parental
pride, simply because it wasn’t spoken by a human being. Or
maybe you’re avoiding God, expecting Him to scold you when
you finally do get alone with Him.
God wants you to know what He’s thinking! Psalm 25:14
