when you will have significant privacy and the assurance that
you won’t be interrupted. In advance of that scheduled
appointment, locate five or more of your favorite worship CDs
and make a note of the particular songs you like most on each
CD and/or make a playlist of them on your iPod. Then, during
your designated thirty minutes, play those tunes as loud as is
appropriate—dance and laugh and sway and sing at the top of
your lungs, praising God. Let God’s love and words wash over
you!
Perhaps you are younger, and my call to “let God talk to
you” is having the same impact on you. Or perhaps you’ve
been a Christian for a while and you can almost hear God
asking, even pleading with you to give Him more of yourself,
more of your time. If so, I beg you to surrender yourself so that

One day you, too, will be the older one. Recording your two-way
conversations with God provides you with an endless stack of stories
and amazing answers to prayer that can’t help but motivate others
to pray.
One day you will be the one teaching others the consequences of
prayerlessness by sharing your failures or missteps.
One day you can prove that being chiseled and molded and changed
by God’s sculpting hands during hours alone with Him won’t crush
you, it’ll just make you better... looking (kidding).
One day you will be the one who determinedly promotes the benefits
of balancing discipline with devotion to God, because you know that
love fades if you let it.
Don’t let your love for God fade.
