Let God Talk to You: When You Hear Him, You Will Never Be the Same

(nextflipdebug2) #1

during the next day or week.
The secret of the To-Do section is that it’s the place to
record an idea or task that needs to be accomplished later.
Whether it is a large or small To-Do, transferring the idea in
your head to a notepad or calendar (1) acknowledges that you
and God have discussed it, and (2) it doesn’t actually interrupt
your time with God as it would if you physically got up to do it.
It simply reminds you to do it later!

“God Talks” Are Tangible and Relational

Recording in writing everything you hear, think, and feel God is
saying to you makes your two-way conversations with Him
tangible and relational rather than mystical or unintelligible.
And for those who might need a little convincing that God
desires to talk to you every day about everything, keeping a
written record of your conversations with Him provides proof
that He intimately and practically wants to be involved in your
life as well as use you to powerfully change the lives of others.
You may never know why a meeting you were looking
forward to attending is cancelled or why you were bumped out
of a seat and moved to a later flight. You may never know why
God prompts you to decline an invitation, answer an
unsolicited call, or accept an offer, especially when it requires
sacrifice of your time or money. But if you let God talk to you
day after day, becoming very familiar with His voice and
willingly responding to His every small (seemingly
unimportant) suggestion, you will be ready and alert when He
asks you to do something so important that it will significantly
impact someone else’s life.
