and express your love for Him. Let God talk to you, telling you
just how much He loves you.
Ask Jesus for forgiveness for anything that comes to mind.
Then wait.
Let God wash over you with His purifying, cleansing Holy
Spirit.
Ask the Holy Spirit for help or wisdom to address any
present concern or need. Be specific. Let God talk to you by
giving you thoughts and impressions of how He wants to
move and work practically in your life.
Thank God for the most recent ways He has touched your
life. Be specific.
Next, let God talk to you by opening the Bible to a psalm
(Psalm 5 or 139, for starters) or to a chapter in one of the New
Testament gospels (Matthew 6, Luke 11, or John 3, for
example). Write down any verses in Scripture that give you
immediate comfort, guidance, or correction. Commit one of the
verses to memory—allowing God’s Word to continue to speak
to you throughout the coming days.
Then ask God if there is anything that you can do for Him.
Be expectant—watching, listening, and waiting—for His
answer. Record your very next thoughts or impressions as well
as your responses to God. Date the page.
Finally, tell someone about your conversation with God—
how you felt, what you heard, and what you are going to do
next.
Why should you let God talk to you right now, today, and
every day?
