Quetsches are dark purple
plums that are grown
mainly in the northeast of
France. They are about 1½
inches long and oblong in
shape. The closest plums
you will find in the United
States are sugar plums,
French plums, d’Agen
plums, or Italian plums,
which you can find from
August to October. Their
nice acidic flesh contrasts
